General Information


For all foreigners to visit China, visa is necessary. Invitation letters will be issued at request.These requests should be send to Ybin Feng, secretary of LES China, at e-mail zhaohui@ccpit-patent.com.cn.



For all participants, speakers and exhibitors at the LESI2016 Annual Conference in Beijing a network app will be available. You will have access to all participants and you contact them very easily. You can also find information on the program and other useful details on the event. Looking for knowledge or contacts? Post a quest! You are in the midst of a group of people with the same interests. There must be somebody around who can help you with your quest or vice versa. Share your questions and you can benefit from the large amount of knowledge that sits around you. Do you want to discuss a certain topic, are you looking for partners to cooperate or just somebody that may provide you with the knowledge that you are missing? All you have to do is post your question in the app or look for an interesting contact in the list of participants. Register for a panel or workshop? By clicking on program you will find the plenary sessions, panel and workshops per day on a timeline. By clicking on the workshop or panel more information on speakers etc. is shown. You can register for the panel and workshops of your choice by clicking the relevant timeslot. You can choose your session by clicking “+”. You can download this app from the Appstore or Google Playstore.  Participants can request the download instructions if they did not receive it yet at secretariat@lesi2016.org.



May 15-18 falls within the mid spring, one of the best time spans in Beijing, with a temperature of 15-25C.


Conference Venue

China World Hotel is among the top five star hotels in Beijing, one of the venues for APEC Conference in 2014.



The present exchange rate between RMB and USD is about 6.4:1 (August 2015)


Credit cards

All major credit cards (VISA, MASTER and AMEX) are accepted in luxury hotels in Beijing, but may not be accepted at supermarkets.



The conference hotel is located at No.1 Jianguomenwai Avenue in CBD area of Beijing, 6.5 km from Tiananmen Square, the center of Beijing and easily going to anywhere downtown by subways or taxis.


26 km from Beijing Capital International Airport, the conference hotel can easily be reached by airport bus, taxi or subway. Taxi costs about USD 13 and is highly recommended.

220 V, 50 Hz, Chinese socket. Enough adaptors will be prepared at your disposal.


Getting around in Beijing

For sightseeing, shopping or dining downtown, subway, bus or taxi are quite effective. For sightseeing in the suburbs, making arrangements with a travel agency is suggested. Generally speaking, tourism expenses in Beijing are not high.



The conference organizers cannot accept liability for personal injuries sustained, for loss of, or damage to, property belonging to conference participants or their accompanying persons, either during or as a result of the event. Please check the validity of your own travel insurance.  The organizers do not take responsibility for any individual, medical, travel or personal insurance. International participants will ensure that their passports, travel documents and visas are valid for travel.  



The working language of the conference is English. It is not difficult to find English speaking Chinese in hotels and even on streets.


Registration and hospitality desk

The welcome hospitality and registration desk will be open from May 15 till the end of the conference, first in the lobby and then in the conference area.
